Hello everybody!

It's good to be back! (for now... )

For those who weren't able to read it on my MySpace, I'll be MIA again for a bit this upcoming February. I have been accepted into the Air Force in the field of Linguistics! I scored in the highest "tier" on both the ASVAB (Armed Forces entrance exam, basically none of the enlisted career field were made unavailable) and the DLAB (Linguistics proficiency test). What this means is that they actually gave me the choice to be trained in any of the languages the Air Force tech schools have to offer; obviously my weabboo-ness caused me to pick to be trained in Japanese, and after tech school I will be stationed where "knowledge in my chosen language will be the most useful." I've already confirmed this with my recruiter and the liaisons over at Fort Ben.

So anyways, it will be an awesome opportunity to be able to travel and see the world, get a Bachelor's Degree in a short amount of time, and not have to pay for any of it. Plus, this field has a rather healthy sign-on bonus as well... let's just say I won't be hurting for cash once I get past training.

So, I begin Basic on Feb. 10; plenty of time to get back in shape beforehand. Since the tech school for the language I picked is in Monterey, CA I'll be only a couple of hours away from Hobbyfan's main store! So I'll have plenty to keep me occupied during my off-time since I'll be in tech school for almost a year.
