...At work.

All this week shall be a "pony show" for some VIPs higher up in the company... I don't really even have any genuinely fancy formal business attire to wear to the office. So, let's see if my wonderful personality can win them over. >:3

Also, lots of procedures are getting changed around the office, without the resources in place for us agents to work under those changes. I can't give any specifics due to confidentiality agreements, blah blah blah... but work hasn't been much fun lately.

Ah well, not much I can do about it... though I hear that Nestle is hiring in their local plant; I'll apply there again and see if that gets me anywhere.

A side note: I have been working at some job or another for 10 years now! Time flies when you're having fun, eh?

Not as much moneys as I'd like... we've been switched to "activity-based compensation," a system by which we get paid by the call we receive / case we handle. The vast majority of us (those that actually fix the clients' issues) will receive a pay cut all the way down to an average of $8 /hour... while those who screw around and don't put forth an honest effort to help these people and do a good job will be making more money, simply due to being able to "handle" the cases faster.

I can't really bring up the issues that are affecting our pay and the fulfillment of the job to my superiors, since I'm already on bad terms with our department due to all of the time I've had to take off recently to see my grandfather and also for the times I was in and out of the hospital.

So, I'm thinking a new job might well be the cure to what ails me.

Yeah... working through contract with the FMS branch of U.S. Treasury, but getting paid the same as the people working at the Subway a few blocks over tends to make one unhappy with one's position.

There's a few job openings with Nestle, making a minimum of $16 an hour... that sounds far more appealing to me.

Well. My supervisor brought me into his office today to tell me that I "should have been fired long ago" for insubordination... apparently having family and health issues are things the department frowns upon, regardless of how good an agent one is...

He wanted me canned, but our boss said he couldn't because no one ever gave me a warning.

So, new job it is! I'll be filling out applications all this week, and probably turning in my security clearance and badge next Tuesday or so.
